North Ryde
"North Ryde - aka "Norrie" is the place to be in Sydney - Get in before it's too late"
I moved here after living 10 years in the inner West and it's a lovely change. Lovely big blocks. Lots of new homes going up. On the train line and great buses to the city. My 297 bus in the morning takes 14 minutes to the city which is a quicker commute to work than when I used to live in Redfern. This suburb will go from strength to strength. Once Lachlan's line is established, there will be even more shopping and nightlife facilities. With more young families moving in the shops at Cox's Rad and Blenheim Rd will surely start to become a bit more hipster as well.

Norrie? WTF

The older houses had way more character than what's going up now. The area has lost a lot of its soul.

Totally agree with everything written above. My wife and I moved in 3 years ago from Western Sydney looking for somewhere with easy travel into the city (as we are both young lawyers), as well as somewhere we can see ourselves rasising our young family. North Ryde has been perfect for us. We have also seen many of the older houses purchased, knocked down and rebuilt. The suburb is going from strength to strength.
