"North Ryde - aka "Norrie" is the place to be in Sydney - Get in before it's too late"

I moved here after living 10 years in the inner West and it's a lovely change. Lovely big blocks. Lots of new homes going up. On the train line and great buses to the city. My 297 bus in the morning takes 14 minutes to the city which is a quicker commute to work than when I used to live in Redfern. This suburb will go from strength to strength. Once Lachlan's line is established, there will be even more shopping and nightlife facilities. With more young families moving in the shops at Cox's Rad and Blenheim Rd will surely start to become a bit more hipster as well.

"One of Sydney's Great Suburbs"

It has it all, great school's, transport services, cafe's, major businesses and it is close to Sydney CBD. Every Christmas and Australia Day there is a great fire work display at North Ryde Common showing the community spirit around the area.

"Burbs in the heart of the city"

Suburbia next to a major university and technology park, within a few minutes of two large shopping malls, the Olympic Stadium, Ryde Aquatic Centre, four Council libraries, five primary schools, four "local" shopping centres, parks everywhere, and full of families. Also only 15 mins from the city and even less from Chatwsood and the harbour and river Has easy access to the F3 freeway heading north, and M2/M7 heading west and south. Now full of professionals with kids as the suburb cycling over to a new generation.....and lot of new houses being built. A gem in the heart of the city.

Ben Boutros
Ben Boutros Great area to live, close to the City, North Ryde/Macquarie Park CBD, two large and modern shopping centre, lots of sporting fields and National Parks. There is a good sense of community in many of the housing pockets such as Cutler Parade and Farrington Parade during Christmas with almost every house putting up lights and everyone comes and has a look.

"so good for families & close to the city"

Thre is a modern train station & plentry of buses to get you to the city quickly, or by car you can use lane cove tunnel & be there in 10 mins. Also head out to the hills district or further using M2 & M5. All this easy access to Sydney & still a very friendly family area with large blocks of land.

"North Ryde is an undiscovered gem!"

People are friendly. On my early morning walks there's always a "Hello". North Ryde is green and leafy - good air quality. Private blocks. Little traffic off the main thoroughfares. Many cul-de-sacs make it safe for kids to play. Lots of well equipped playgrounds. A village atmosphere, yet Macquarie Shopping Centre, Top Ryde and Chatswood are close by. It's 10mins to Rhodes which has Ikea and more movies. The village shops and Library at Cox's Rd offer excellent variety with great restaurants. The local schools are excellent and have lots of grass!

It's a 10/15 min trip to city by car. Frequent express bus service to heart of the city, 20/25mins. I get to Eastern Suburbs in 15 mins via tunnel. No wild night life but for entertainment there's Nth Ryde RSL, many events at the Uni, plenty at El Rancho and Ramada Inn plus 15 cinemas in the Mall. Ryde Aquatic Centre and the gym make exercising easy - not to mention Lane Cove National Park. A haven for wild life and a magnificent river to walk beside. I find North Ryde one of the best suburbs in Sydney. You can even see the fireworks on New Years eve.

"Great facilities here"

North Ryde was developed as a housing area back in the 1950s, after initially being the site of orchards and poultry farms. The residential areas were split into War Service Homes (for returned servicemen and women), and Housing Commission (low cost housing for low income earners). However a new generation of residents has seen these lines blurred and simple old homes being demolished and replaced by McMansions.

The suburb has a Community Club, Fitness Centre, Library, Banks, a great shopping strip on Cox’s Road with some very nice restaurants.

Many people who work in the nearby Macquarie Park area find North Ryde an ideal place to call home.
