Upper Coomera

"Some difficulties, but a great location"

Moved here in 2015 from Parkinson in Brisbane to Highland reserve. Lots of nature, amenities such as tennis courts and parks. The area I used to live in backed onto a motorway and became noisier over time. Highland reserve is much quieter but I think it would get more traffic as time goes on. I like having basically as much bushland to walk in within twenty minutes. Having a neighbourhood facebook group is handy. Some weird crime incidents did occur but this has dropped dramatically with 2018 so far. Schools seem really well resourced and there is a lot of space for future development in the suburb overall.

Hi we are about to move to Coomera and you make reference to lots of bushland but do you have to worry about snakes. We have a toddler of 4 years old so this is a concern for us. Be interested in your comments. Thanks

I think you have to take the usual precautions, depending on if you are close to bush or creek areas. We had rock walls in our old garden and there was a small snake seen in the first fortnight of moving there. The kids playground on Rose valley drive near the tennis court would also get green snake sightings around Summer. People seem to visit that playground from other suburbs (to see the lake etc) so I guess it is something most people would not know about.

Thanks, we are looking at a property off Foxwell Road near the new Westfield Mall with a small section and limited plants so hopefully wont be a problem. That said, I might get one of those solar snake repellent gadgets for the section just in case - really dont want to take any risks.
