Johnny1 you are so WRONG mate and the proof is in the fact that Doolandella is considered by those in the know to be one of Brisbane's best up and coming suburbs. Recent home owners & investors are getting big equity returns in just a short time. Only 17km (25 mins) to Brisbane CBD and with major motorways to Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Ipswich just a few short mins away. Not to mention a new day care centre just built and a new Woolworths about to be built. Good quiet family area with no trouble in the 2 yrs since I've been here. Get your facts right mate!

the fight for DLA, I enjoyed driving through the large homestead sites, so much land to do so much with and enjoy the peaceful surrounds and wildlife, although yards are a bit messy with small and large items lying around. Also noticed the apartments going up in the area which is housing new families who send their kids to good schools out of the area. They do look nice and are still affordable for first home buyers. Location is good, but it's also close to Inala and Forest Lake which have high crime rates, probably why prices are stagnated and not as upbeat as some like to think, and now falling due to the market interactions with the world's problems. Here comes the R word (recession) again. So funny how we argue in what is still the lucky country, the biggest island in the world. I guess the cup will overflow and spill into the streets one day, the 'hoons' are already using the streets, we've got some around our neighbourhood. Traidie's are morning and afternoon hoons too in other areas, they work reasonably hard, just out for a bit of fun, put a camera up for them and the police. So, probably need to get your security cameras and lights up and a dog or two if you haven't already. Could sell up and join the real countryside but best to hang near the hospital for baby boomers at least. Some of the older properties are looking a bit tired and outdated, can build a new one. A nice townhouse would be a good investment for many people breaking into the property market, be nice to integrate the old with the new in an innovative way too. All business are out to make a quid, everyone wants to survive one way or the other. Haven't seen any townhouses within parklands on larger sites with community facilities and wider streets like the old bygone era, a thing of the past playing on streets these days, maybe missing something. Personally, I'd get a good deal and move out, buy a property in a nice suburb and be happy with an acre or so, like a lovely Qld'er modernised near the inner city, close to medical facilities. I'd love to live on my island but the hospital is not so good, have to fly out for major problems. Anyhow, I think personally it would be a bit odd living on the last large property in the area behind the times, although perfectly entitled to, just always being harassed to sell, getting stressed out over things, always thinking about them. We're all gonna die one day, may as well enjoy life in a supportive environment.

BrodieJ - ok. So you're a realtor and highly biased. You want to own 5 properties in the area and have them appreciate under the pressure of your publicised inflated demand. I was checking out this suburb to buy in. I won't and you were the determining factor. You browbeat people with your biased self-promoting posts and leave no room for discussion. I've been researching properties for about 18 months and doing suburb reconnaissance, you're not helping your cause. Let's let see how much your 3 properties are worth with all your neighbours parking 3+ cars on the lawn, 10 household residents and higher crime rates. Good luck with that.
