"Peace and quiet, nice scenery."

Peaceful country town, great views, beautiful rivers, Lake Buffalo and snowfields close by. Farming, timber and tourism are the main industries. Some excellent food and wine produced in the area, great Farmers Market and great local eateries. Along with nearby towns of Beechworth, Bright, the ski resorts and Mount Buffalo National Park, the whole area receives large numbers of tourists.

Great for

  • Peace and quiet, fresh air and great views
  • Tourism industry is here
  • Close to snowfields

Not great for

  • May be hard to find full time employment
  • Winters are cold
