Palmyra

"High Density here we come"

Palmyra, it is what it is. Old worker cottages exist all over the place and new precast houses standing 2 stories tall. A mixture of new and old. There is however the element of to much to fast with local zoning changed many existing quaint houses being demolished to make units resulting in a higher than usual proportion of homes west housing. There are no shops, no cafe strips, no places to eat. What it appears to have however are dog and cat owners in spades. You cant go for a walk around palmyra without bumping into many a person walking their favorite pet. There are substantial feral cat problems and breakins rates are higher than most suburbs unfortunately. If you have the money to build a new house with high walls its a great suburb to live in. For anyone else, stay out and pray you never have the misfortune to be born in Palmyra.

Great for

  • Parks and plenty of people to walk your dog with
  • Mixture of different work class peoples
  • Bin pickup is at 5am

Not great for

  • Parks that attract billions of dogs and hundreds of feral cats
  • Mixture of different worker class people
  • Bin pickup is at 5am

I believe the zoning resulting in the many subdivisions reverted back in the last ten years to something more moderate.

I can honestly say our bin pick up is ~10 - 11am, certainly not 5am! We've not heard of breakins in the area, nor of issues with feral cats. There are a plethora of cafes (Oushk, Puck, Misto to name a few). I've never seen anyone walking a cat, but you never know.
Perhaps Josh is a little geographically confused?
