St Ives

"We love St Ives"

Where we live in St Ives is quiet and tranquil - we have considerate neighbours who share a love of the bush and nature. It is only 15 minutes drive to Chatswood, Macquarie University and easy access to Gordon Station by car/bus. Schools are amazing, especially St Ives Public School (our child went to SIPS and St Ives North). Great community spirit, multicultural and a number of good restaurants close by.

Hi DeeM2,
The three public primary schools are all quite different but all great. They all achieve well academically and in sports, and give a well rounded education with plenty of opportunities. St Ives North has the highest number of classes per year and St Ives Park has the fewest - one or two classes per year. St Ives Park has the biggest grounds including an eco garden with chickens and vegetables, and nice community feel. Due to lower numbers, individuality is acknowledged and celebrated, and children have good access to opportunities. St Ives North has gifted and talented classes (accessible through testing). It is conveniently located for families on that side of St Ives. St Ives Public has good dance groups and band and is next to the high school, which is convenient but also bad for parking and traffic. There are decent preschools near all three primary schools. I suggest definitely visit each school and get a feel for them yourself, if you can.
