"Rude to outsiders + full of people who spread misinfromation"
I would not recommend to people for several reasons.
If you're not a well connected established long term citizen of Tenterfield then you will probably struggle to fit in outside of professional interactions.
While not impossible, it's very "anti-outsider" in terms of moving in.
Especially if you not only want to live there, but also see the town improve and grow.
A lot of people are stuck in the 80/90s, refusing to accept change and improvements to the town and especially the technology and other factors that would lead to growth and improvement in general.
It's populated with a lot of elderly that are very sky news, facebook conspiracy types.
Though it does seem there's a growing amount of more competent people, especially young adults. So there's still hope.
Tenterfield is great as a tourist. Not great if you live here and have to try and interact and socialise long term. But it has potential. I just wish people would stop being opposed to stuff that is objectively beneficial to the town, just because they feel the need to complain about anything and everything.
