Is Tenderfield a bad place to live?

Short answer..Yes..
Long answer...I loved this town in the beginning. But I found the whole time we were there we were lied to, conned and ripped off..I hope things will improve in the future as the young adults (19- 25 year olds) seemed quite nice. It was the older generation we had trouble with as they dont believe you are a local until youve been there for 20 years.. The only thing I can recommend is that you rent for the first 12 months to see how things go..If you are wanting to buy..No matter what the real estate tells you.. The market is very slow! there are some properties that have been on the market for years there!
only 20 years? Most towns will expect 2-3 generations. That's a country town thing, not one isolated to Tenterfield.
I wouldn't say its a *bad* place to live.
As long as you're ready to keep your mouth shut while the conspiracy theorists ramble on about some dumb shyte they read on facebook.
Oh and if you've got anything negative to say about the town/businesses, also might want to keep your mouth shut, because people get REAL rude and basically tell outsiders/new people to either get over it or get out.
Bunch of people stuck in the 80s/90s that talk the loudest.
