Cannon Hill

"Great in the way of looks and proximity to a lot of things, but not great with noise, and traffic."

If you don’t mind the noise of passenger and freight trains, or (if your not too close to the train station) the plains taking off/landing every 5-10MINUTES 24/7, or congestive traffic in and out of the city at peak times, or lack of street parking - then this area has A LOT going for it for you... major grocery stores within walking distance, along with nice cafes/restaurants, decent shopping precincts close by, or the city and any sort of night life is not that far of a drive or Uber. Not to mention the proximity to major Motorways for access to any of the coast lines, but also an abundance of parks close by if you want an active lifestyle without driving.

I’ve lived here a year, close to Cannon Hill station however, and never grew accustomed to the noise, it would have to be the biggest lose-out. I have lived near train and bus stations before and grown to ignore the racket, so I have to wonder if it’s the freight trains and airplane noise that’s made it the worst year of sleep of my life but, I’m aware I chose that so wore it. And if your trying to sleep a toddler during the day, when the noise is more frequent. I am glad I rented here and didn’t buy not knowing though...

I hope this review helps anyone before they make such a commitment though, cas I have known others who have had to sell after the realisation.
