"Convenient, dog friendly and green"
As a young couple in their late 20s/early 30s with a dog, I find Wolli Creek an amazing suburb to suit all our needs. The two train lines that service Wolli Creek make it an easy 15-20 mins ride to the city to get to work. Plenty of green space to take our dog for daily walks. It's such a dog friendly suburb - you could tell just by the amount of furry friends you meet at Cahill Park and Discovery point park, and the amazing outdoor seating at most of the restaurants! We also love a good hit at the Cahill Park tennis courts and an easy 5-min walk to the gym.
More and more cafes and restaurants are popping up in recent years. Kals on Cahill, Top Impression bakery and Azuki Bakery are my personal favourites. The hatted Yan Restaurant is a truly hidden gem, along with many other local eats and all varieties of asian cuisine. There is limited nightlife within the suburb but Marrickville/Newtown/city are only a short drive/train ride away.
We live on the Cahill Park side of Wolli Creek, away from the traffic and hustle & bustle on the train station side, with a great view of the city, river and park view! Wolli Creek is a great choice for small families, young people and those who work in the city/airport. We've lived here for the past 6 years and absolutely love it here. A very walkable suburb (it's tiny yet has everything you need!).
