Wyralla Avenue

"Wyralla Ave - Between Kent St & Melrose St"

This section has some good quality Federation homes and Californian bungalows kepts in 1900's original style. Some restored, and others being restored. The street is quiet and well located; less than 400m to the small shops at Boronia Av. Medical centres and pharmacies at Rawson St & Boronia Av. Childcare on Francis St, Boronia Av, Bridge St. Top Primary schools in NSW and good highschools. Close to parks and tennis courts. 10min walking distance to Train & shops. Fantastic 5 min drive in back roads to Eastwood where restaurant selection is huge. One of the bad aspects at the moment is if you need to head South down Epping Rd on a weekday morning it will be very congested on Carlingford Rd leading to Beecroft Rd intersection. My neighbours and people down the street are very close, and in the past they used to hold a street BBQ. At Christmas time you can see people putting up their lights. The value of property in this section of Wyralla Ave is very high. Property is tightly held with many people being in the area for 25-60yrs.

Great for

  • Centrally located to Epping township
  • Federation / Classic homes
  • Tree lined streets with parks & community facilities

Not great for

  • Access south to Epping Road

Epping

"A Surburban Transport Hub at the centre of Sydneys major centres"

It is truly suburbia in Epping, but with a short 10min stroll I can be from my house to the train, bus or taxis. I like the fact there are not many pubs, clubs and nightlife. Also it's great that there is not a huge mall here. Having nightlight and malls attracts transient people who cause issues. The great thing is I can be on a train to the mall, clubs, nightlife in 10mins. You are at the centre of Norwest, Castlehill, Chatswood, Parramatta with great motorways close by. My neighbours are fantastic. A large number of federation homes being preserved giving it a boutique feel. Trees are abound. Lots of parks and play areas for my kid. I love Epping! And there is more good stuff planned for this little town.

Great for

  • Federation boutique homes
  • Top Public Schools
  • Central location
  • Transport
  • Restaurants

Not great for

  • Inadequate parking
  • Traffic around the town centre

Totally agree about the fact that too many convenient infrastructures bring transient problematic people. You can see that sometimes in Chatswood; the pedestrian zone and the mall attract some beggars, druggies and weirdos that for sure don't live in the suburb (unless there are housing commissions in Chatswood) during day time.

@Howhi you left out access to Macquarie (shopping centre and university), Hornsby and Rhodes (Ikea) and like access to Chatswood, all by train with more to come. Inter urban trains are two stops to Central or easy access to Gosford and even Newcastle.

@RichardU - totally agree with you! The access will only get better as the Northern Motorway connects to M2, Northwest rail link & Epping to Thornleigh 3rd track all come to completion.
