Pacific Pines

"Not what I expected"

I moved to a leafy area of Pac Pines 18 months ago, assuming it would be full of quiet family types & that I wouldn't have to worry about noisy neighbours. I am paying more rent than I can probably afford for the privilege of a brand new house & supposed peace & quiet, but often feel like I am living in an apartment block. I am continually disappointed by real estate & management agents who insist on letting neighbouring premises to party-animal 20-somethings! Very frustrating. I am ready to move.

I don't know of a place where you will not find some sort of crime! I have a friend who also lives in Pac Pines, and she has had someone jump her fence & wander around in her backyard at night at least 3 times in the last month (and the police have not come when called). She now sleeps with the TV on. She & I have both had someone knock frantically on our doors in the middle of the night, only to find there is no-one there (seconds later). Unfortunately, there are a lot of bored teenagers living in this suburb also, most of whose parents have no idea/don't care where they are a lot of the time. When you actually live here, you have a better idea of what actually goes on.

I do actually live here! And I do know what goes on. Kids knocking on your door and a garden intruder is a little less frightening than a teanager getting beaten to death with baseball bats and Snooker cues just outside my office in south London. Two weeks before I left a drug dealer was knocked unconcious just so he would n't move whilst the perpetrator ran his car over his legs!
This is why I choose the relative calm of Pac Pines to bring up my family!

Never trust a real estate agent. Works for the vendor and self interest
