"This isn't a town - just a collection of houses and lots of land"
Most of the streets aren't made, but that doesn't seem to matter to the locals, they just drive where they want. Can't get over the size of the blocks - they're at least 2020 square metres, and all scrub. Surrounded by reserve, with the beach never more than a couple of hundred metres away. Right next to Island Beach, with the properties about half the price. Worth the effort to check it out.

"Just the place to get away from it all"
20 acre blocks, all fronting the beach road. All scrub that you could really get lost in. Perfect place if you want to write a novel. Damned quiet. Great beach - guarantee you'll be the only one on it. No shops within cooee, saw a car on the road once. Electricity an issue - may have to rely on solar and wind generation, or use a generator ( a quiet one!). Good fishing, especially salmon. Great views from any of the properties.

"Quiet and safe"
No shops, no traffic, sandy beach, perfect for bush walks or along the beach. About 15 minutes from Kingscote, if you have to go there. Flat as a pancake, so no hills to climb. Ridiculously cheap land, and plenty of it.

"Seaside hamlet with perfect beach"
Only a small settlement about 8 minutes from Penneshaw. The biggest secret is the sandy beach over the sandhill. Most visitors who don't get out of their car don't even know it's there. Good boat ramp, great fishing about 50 metres from the shore. A really safe environment for kids. No shops, so it's off to Penneshaw for supplies. Cheap land!

"River and beach within easy reach"
Terrific tranquil river, plenty of bream! Great for kayaking. Spectacular beach, but swimming only for the experienced - watch the undertow. Beautiful bush setting, cheap land, a really attractive environment.

"A relaxed and carefree town"
No traffic, no pollution, why don't more people want to live here? Fantastic views from up on the hill, superb bush walks and just a marvelous picture book setting of boats on the harbour. Cheap housing and cheap land, well stocked general store, great community club, a wonderful place to retire or grow up.
Great for
- Great community - virtually crime free - peaceful.
- Moderate climate with no extremes
- Sheltered waters for all on water activities
Not great for
- We are an Island - but that's also the joy.
