Willana Avenue

"Very quiet street. Home to many retirees and couples"

I lived in Willana Ave around 15 years ago. It was a very quiet street with little traffic. A 3 minute walk to the local shopping strip was always handy. Also under one minute drive to local primary schools and Kardinia International College. Would now be a handy location if you worked in Melbourne with the ring road also only a couple of mins away if that. Back in 1995 Willana Ave was home to many aged single and retired couples. Never saw kids playing in the street as I don't think there were any. Always quiet and no evidence of crime. The railway at the end of the street is now not used as it was the track to the now closed cement works. Since the cement works closed the area has boomed with properties increasing in value rapidly due to better quality air and no fallout from the cement dust.

Leopold

"Perfect for families. Friendly area with high community spirit. Very low crime!!"

Leopold is 10mins from Geelong and 10mins from Ocean Grove beach. It is a community of around 7500 people with a large percentage being families, retirees and couples. A large primary school with excellent facilities and progrmas houses around 700 students. There is no high school but there is transport to schools within 10 mins. There are two quality Kinders which are ran by the Geelong Kindergarten Association. Daycare facilities vary with a daycare centre and popular family daycare facilites. Leopold has two main arterials - Bellarine Highway and Portarlington Rd which allow commuting to Geelong easy, especially if you take the Port Rd. You will easily arrive in Geelong in 10mins as there is only 3 sets of traffic lights to deal with if you live on the north side. Leopold has a great Sportsmans club which is ideal if you are a lawn bowler, like to have bistro meals, play the pokies or have a flutter on the horses/dogs. There is a major supermarket (Coles) with numerous specialty stores housed on the west side of Leopold with two smaller shopping strips on both the north and south sides. Plenty of sporting families are catered for with Leopold home to football, netball, tennis, ballroom dancing, jazz ballet and tap, calisthenics, karate, over 50's fitness, personal training, skate park, lawn bowls, and probably more.
The crime rate in Leopold is hardly existent. Makes you feel safe at night!! A 24 Service station is available if you need to make a midnight dash for munchies. Doctors are aplenty in Leopold with at least 3 separate practices in various locations all housing numerous GP's. There is also a dental surgery, and physio.
Take-away includes pizza x2, fish and chips x2, Chinese, and Red Rooster. For a coffee catch up there is a great Panache Crepery.
Writing this late at night so may have forgotten a few things, however, Leopold is a great place to live and bring up a family.

Daxter Court

"Very friendly court. Safe haven for kids to play. Quality homes built from 1995 - 2003"

There are 13 houses in Daxter Crt with two unit size homes on their own title and others ranging in size from 17 squares to over 26 squares. Most have been built by quality builders such as Q Designer, Bell and Fulton, and owner builders. There are a variety of families, couples and retirees in Daxter Crt with most being owner occupiers. Daxter Crt is a safe haven for children playing and several children can be seen regularly kicking the footy or riding their bikes. No through traffic means that we have a quiet court. All neighbours get on well and are respectful of each others privacy. Quite a number of the houses in the court enjoy spectacular views of the South West right around to the North. Crime is totally non-existent in the area. Facilities in the area include a fantastic school with fab facilities and programs, a 24 hour Service Station, a Sportsmans club with cheap meals, pokies and lounge, shopping centre with Coles Supermarket and specialty stores, smaller strip shopping cetnres, two kinders, daycare facilities, sporting grounds, walking tracks, and heaps more. Only 10 mins from Ocean Grove beach and 10 mins to Westfield Shopping Centre in Geelong. Approx 60 mins to Westgate bridge.
