Thorneside

"Brisbanes'' Hidden Gem"

I visited QLD a few years back to look for an investment property with an aim to buy somewhere out towards Ipswich.
For some strange reason I booked a night in Manly so decided to have a drive around the coastal area whilst I was up there. I am so glad that I did as I found Thorneside and was amazed at how cheap property was sooooo close to the Ocean. I bought a place near to the station and really have never looked back. I have recently just purchased my second property close to the station but prices have gone up so I did pay significantly more than I did in 2018.
Thorneside is literally a hop skip and jump away from the City and Airport.
I am considering buying even another property there before I get priced out of the market.
This hidden gem is definitely not going to be hidden much longer. I am so happy that I have bought when I did.
If you are wanting to get a cheap house in a Brisbane suburb very close to the City and water then THIS is the place to buy.
Happy house hunting but hopefully I will get in before you ha ha ha

Redfern

"The best thing since sliced bread"

OMG.....3.5 years ago I move to Australia from living in a tiny little village in the UK. I never ever dreamed ina zillion years that I would end up living so close to the city centre and absolutely loving it! After renting in Surry Hills for 5 months and loving every minute of it I knoew that I had to live somewhere in Surry Hills West/South OR Redfern North......I fell for a block of units in redfern with a pool, gym, sauna and spa with oh so low strata fees so I was on a mission to buy...and I did...I made an offer the owners could not refuse and yes I thought I had paid $15,000 too much but only 2 months later, an identical unit but not modernised like mine, went for $5k more!!!!!! I love this area sooooooooooooooooo much. I walk home from the city at 1.30am every weekend and I am never affraid. It is so well lit and so clean and nice that noone bothers you. To me Redfern is THE place to be in Sydney for affordability, cleanliness and lifestyle and I am very suprised that when writing this it is only rated with 90%....it might not be 100% quite yet, but i would definately say it is now 95%......come and live here if you dont believe me. I will meet you for a drink in the wonderful Woolpack Pub on Chalmers St.

Great for

  • Location
  • Art Galleries
  • Green Parks
  • Public Transport

Not great for

  • The stigma that is still there with some people. Most people who bag out Redfern have not been through it for many years.

Little Bay

"Eastern Suburbs Secret Paradise"

Moving to Little Bay from Double Bay has been the smartest move that I have ever made. For anyone not knowing anything about Little Bay, this place is the last piece of Sydney Eastern Suburbs left that is affordable for both rental and buying. It is surrounded by ocean, quiet beaches, nature parks and golf courses.
Living at Little Bay is like living in a millionairs oasis.
I suppose I am silly writing this review but the more people I can inform about this peice of paradise the more facilities the local council will grant us. At this moment in time, we simply lack restaurants and shops (even though some are being built).
Get yourself down to Little Bay on a lovely sunny day and see for yourself exactly what I am talking about. Trust me you will not look back!
Thanks for reading.
