Werribee

"Not what it used to be"

I am a local having lived in werribee for 50 years.
I have seen it go from a quiet country town where you knew everyone and felt safe to what it is today.
There are hardly any trees. A few years ago the council decided they didn't want them on nature strips. The traffic is horrendous. Try getting into werribee from Wyndham vale during peak hour. They are building new estates on land that has always flooded. There are so many different races now and they are all forming gangs. There are so many drugs. My mum won't even go into the main street alone any more as she does not feel safe.

I left werribee for a smaller safer place. I go there to visit friends and I don't regret my move at all.

Not great for

  • Traffic due to population boom
  • Traffic!!

Agreed. I moved here 9 months ago, expecting the place to be a typical suburban area. But no: I had someone sneak into my shed in the middle of the lockdown to do his/her drugs at night. Everyone that walks up my street looks like they haven't had a shower in 10 days. 75% of the people smell of cheap/rotten cigarette, the town smells of fart mixed with chemicals 5 days/month, the area around the station looks like a junkyard with rubbish all over the place. And I'm not going to talk about the hoons, the poor quality of the houses and the atrocious deployment of Covid-related health services. Werribee = No future, but I guess that's how the communist cartel of MLAs want it to be.
