"Quiet and easy going"
I live 30 minutes from Maryborough; I have been doing shopping and dental appointments for my family for 14 years in Maryborough. The town is fairly laid back and there are no parking metres. Good choice of speciality boutiques and supermarkets, Kmart, Toyworld/Sportspower.
Arts and crafts are popular hobbies in the district, with a number of groups and good craft shop.
Library staff are friendly and the air conditioning is appreciated on a hot day.
There is a small Cinema that has been renovated.
Small art gallery at the old fire station with its impressive Victorian architecture. There are a number of prominent buildings from the Victorian era.
A lot of the town is quite and some areas are a little rundown. I look at the rentals for my adult children in case they want to move out of home, as Maryborough is mostly flat it easy to walk to the shops, parks and two central lakes.
The dentists are good in the town, but I have yet to find a good doctor there. The hospital is well run: good nurses and visiting specialists. The new buildings for the hospital are being built(2024).
Maryborough climate is not as cold as Ballarat in winter and not as hot as Bendigo in summer.
Some of the advertised rentals and homes for sale are on the truck route : Gladstone Street.

There are more doctors in the town now. Nightingale Clinic has four new doctors early 2025. I have seen Dr Chris Pham who now works there; he is friendly and thorough
