Strathpine

"Our first home"

We bought our first home in Strathpine on Oct 2017 so just over a year we have been here now and we absolutely love it. Our neighbours are lovely and the street is quiet. It’s a great area for families and first home buyers. We won’t be going anywhere for a while. There is great coffee at Cafe Two 14 which is located in the Strathpine center and also great coffee at Silky Oak which is in a super convenient location on Gympie road and the staff are lovely too. There’s the Warbys butchers up the road and Aussie seafood house and Country markets if you prefer not to shop at Coles etc. everything is in a great location and close by. Genisis Gym is close by and is massive with a pool up the road too. We go for a walk every night and I have never felt unsafe in the area. Theres also the pine rivers park which is huge and is a big hit when the nephews come over, again it’s really close. Oh and not to forget the all you can eat buffet at Jaylianos!
It’s a great choice for first home buyers or people wanting bang for your buck as it’s affordable but not too far from the city/ sunny coast.

Ive been looking at this area to move with my wife and young child and this is exactly the review that I was hoping to hear. could you please give me a few of the good streets as well as a few that you would avoid buying in ? Thanks

We are off Grahams road and there is a new estate that has just opened down the back which looks nice. We are on Lord Byron Parade and its a quiet street all these streets are pretty quiet. Bells pocket road would be louder and I dont think I would buy on that road as its long and straight and people often speed, especially with little ones Id avoid it. Some of the places I would avoid would just be really close to the shopping center and train station but other then that we have been really happy in this area.

I am looking to buy a property in Lord Byron Parade. Is this flood prone area? How did the recent floods afected this road?

Back yard got a little bit of water but nothing else in our house was affected. We definitely wont be moving anytime soon haha. Feel very lucky. The house next door is up for sale so thats probably the one you are talking about. Bit of water on the road but nothing bad.
