I can remember going to Kambah as a thirteen year old to see my brother and sister in law when they bought their first house there and it was the last suburb in South Canberra, we ended up my hsuband and I buying our first house in Gordon and that really has become the last suburb in Canberra down south, because beyond that is Tharwa just over the hill.

Built our first home in Kambah in 1973 it was a great area at the time. These days the ACT government should ensure the public housing is up to scratch and surroundings are kept tidy, by ensuring householders are bound to their lease. Otherwise, the place will become a shambles. It is forecast to become a redevelopment suburb in the future with plenty of knockdowns and rebuilds, turning the suburb into a more upmarket area for living. Very central to the main shopping areas and in time will improve the quality of Kambah. There are some nice homes in the area and the ACT government has plans for improvements.
