Victoria Point

"Life by the seaside.."

Fantastic area to live. Many could class Victoria Point as the jewel in the Bayside crown. Ride to the point, catch a ferry to Coochie and you could be in the Whitsundays. Excellent shopping, with no need to leave the area now to grab everything you need. That said.....its getting busier and busier every year. Not quite the sleepy little seaside town anymore but a hustling bustling retail centred suburb.

Minutes to the water, minutes up to Mt Cotton for wine, close to great transport direct to the city..schools are all close by.

An excellent area to live..

Thornlands

"From Strawberry farms to Bay views.. The Middle Bayside Town.."

Thornlands is a somewhat middle town in ways. Cleveland to the north and Victoria Point to the south has removed the need for any real shopping centres in Thornlands and in someways infrastructure. Given this, you then have great local choice for catering to the retail therapy. Newer homes on the eastern side of Cleveland Redland Bay road are fetching very high prices even on the back of no general access to the bay. Some parts of Thornlands are aging and not keeping up with the area's higher pricing.

Recreation wise, Thornlands is great, there is a general green/blue feeling with the parklands and views to Moreton Bay. Weekend's can be had cycling either to Cleveland Point around Raby Bay or south out to Victoria Point.

Has lost over time part of its semi-rural feel and the chance of more land heading towards the hospital and Woodlands Drive will eventually give way to more developments. This could be a driving point for some to move to an area that Thornlands once was.

Overall a nice suburb..

Greenbank

"A world away from the hustle and bustle !!"

(This review is based around the Spring Mountain area). Fantastic community semi-rural aspect. You notice the stress of the day disappear as you enter the estate. Kids running and swimming about in summer, roaring fires and the smoke from chimneys in the winter....A true four season suburb. If you are wishing to stroll to local shops and cafes then this area currently is not ideal. The great flipside to that is there is no traffic issues and no kids loitering around the shops. Peace and Quiet is why people move here. Space to have a great BBQ and space to wander through the bushland escaping all the world's worries. Internet for some streets is still an issue due to infrastructure.

Still so close to everything by car. 40 mins to city, 30 mins to Mt Tamborine and a little more to Gold Coast.

The place to live...
