Upper Caboolture

"Nice place not too far out of town."

We have lived here for about 5 months and I have lived around Caboolture for the past 26 years. We are renting on Pauls Rd which is about 6 minutes down Caboolture River Rd. I think it is a nicer area than the parts of Caboolture, Morayfield, and Caboolture South that are close to the main roads and shops. It feels a lot safer (especially since we got broken into when living in Caboolture South) although we have had a drunk person in our front yard who knocked over our letterbox so I guess it's just as capable of problems as other areas. People seem fairly friendly and we have met both our nextdoor neighbours although we only really talk to one of them regularly. Most people seem to take pride in their homes and keep the area looking pretty nice.

The majority of houses here seem to be rentals but there are a number of owner-occupied homes and larger properties which give the place a nicer, country feel without being way out of town. There seems to be plenty of wildlife and birds with lots of parks and bushland around. I do wonder how long this will last though as development makes it way down Caboolture River Rd. It is a quick walk to the closest bus stop which takes you to Morayfield Station and I have noticed kids are able to walk to school busses so they must stop nearby too. There is also a Foodworks a couple of minutes around the corner which has basic groceries and also does fish and chips which we really like.

One down side to living around people who own big properties is that trucks and large, noisy vehicles regularly go down the street so while it seems like it would be quiet, it can sometimes be quite noisy.

Overall I would recommend Upper Caboolture as a great place to live but you still need to think carefully about which area. Like all areas, it has places that are nicer and safer than others so look around and consider the location of your house if you are looking to buy or rent.
