Eumundi

"Eumundi- the charming historic market town"

I love Eumundi and I think the weekend market has to be the best I've seen. The town has a very relaxed friendly feel and a host of good cafes and restaurants. The 2 hotels also serve good food and the entertainment is excellent. Many of the homes have excellent views of Mt Cooroy and the Hinterland. There is a selection of houses in town on smaller lots and also acreage properties nearby.

Great for

  • Market day with 500 stalls
  • Swimming pool, train to Brisbane
  • The atmosphere and charming old buildings

Not great for

  • Busy on market days Saturday and Wednesday
  • No supermarket in town

Kenilworth

"Motorbike riders heaven"

Kenilworth is a lovely old town with lots of old Queenslander homes and plenty of character.
McGinns in the middle of town is a great spot for breakfast or lunch. The Hotel very popular and good value meals. The cheese factory is well worth a visit and opposite one of the best parks with activities for the kids and young at heart. Not sure if the flying fox is still operating.
There are several antique shops and galleries in town.
Bellbird cafe just a bit out of town on the way to Cannondale and Maleny is a favourite with bike riders and Pete is an enthusiast with mags and DVD's on show

Great for

  • Relaxing
  • Quaint
  • Great food and galleries

Not great for

  • Floods in places

Crescent Road

"Eumundi- amazing market town"

Crescent Rd is just a short walk to Eumundi town and the wonderful markets that happen on Wendnesday and Saturday from early morning to lunch time. Eumundi is the best markets I have visited and a must for visitors. The range of crafts from local stallholders and the services on offer is facinating and some of the best coffee and food you will find anywhere. The 2 hotels Joe's Waterhole and the Imperial are excellent with live music on several nights.

Not great for

"Dream Island"

Very impressed with the quality of housing and the beautiful views of the Broadwater. As the developers land is coming to an end i can see a bright future for this area.
New houses under construction and soon the island will be filled with quality family homes.

Noosaville

"Up the Lazy River is where I like to be"

I remember driving along Gympie Terrace for the first time and being blown away by the natural beauty of the Noosa river and the wonderful parks adjacant. I still love it now and our family are regular visitors and there's nothing like a walk along the esplanade at sunset with the chatter of the lorikeets overhead.
Often described as the heartbeat of the region, Noosaville's northern esplanade borders along the scenic Noosa River, which is known by the locals as the "Golden Mile". Noosa Council completed a $5.8m beautification program, which has improved the Riverside parks, a popular walk with shady trees perfect for picnics and barbecues. The fitness machines are very popular for the more active.
The Noosa River was rated Australia’s best non wilderness river, further upstream is Lake Cooroibah and Lake Cootharaba, where small villages like Boreen Point enjoy life at a slower pace and yachting is a common sight.
The peaceful unpolluted river offers sedate swimming beaches, boating, "putt-putts", kayaking, sailing, and fishing. Along Gympie Terrace and Thomas Street there are more than thirty restaurants and cafes to choose from with a variety of cuisine. Boutique shopping and an array of holiday complexes, a relaxed lifestyle and views of the river from the Gympie Terrace restaurants make this area one of the most promising markets.

Tewantin

"Historic Riverside town of Tewantin"

what I love about Tewantin is the friendly people in the township. The shopping area has great character and a good mix of shops for all your needs. The Noosa Harbour marina just a short walk away is the only marina in town and there are some good cafes and restaurants here whilst enjoying the cool breezes and river views.
Tewantin also has a beach! Some people don't realize this, but continue to the end of Moorindil St, take the ferry across the river and you are on the North Shore an unspolt area with a small resort and the beach that you can drive 4WD all the way to Rainbow Beach.
A normal car can go to the first cutting on a sealed road and great walks round to The Frying Pan which in the Noosa Heads river mouth and views across to Noosa Main Beach.
