Mornington

"The Hills are Alive with the Sound of Nature's Music"

Mornington is located around 7 kms north east of Hobart. It is in a beautiful hilly surrounds. It is only a few minutes from the major shopping centre in Rosny Park, which has all you would need and more for all your shopping and entertainment requirements. It does have an industrial side mainly centring around transport. Its fire and ambulance services are welcome additions to the area. The Waverley Flora Park is a great place to explore with the family. There are many good schools in the area making it the perfect place for a family.

Granton

"Gay Friendly Capital of Australia"

Granton is located 17 kms north west of Hobart. It is considered to be the gay capital of Australia not to mention Tasmania. There are also quite a few young families in the area. Although there is not much in the way of local amenities both Bridgewater and Claremont are not that far away. It is serviced well by public transport. It is a grape growing area and there are a number of small wineries which would be well worth a visit. It is also an area popular with cyclists as it is part of the route from Richmond to Hobart.

Kingston Beach

"Beach on the River"

Kingston Beach is located 11 kms south of Hobart. It is where the mouth of Browns Rivulet enters the Derwent River. A division of the Clifton Beach Surf Life Saving Club is located on Kinston Beach. It has plenty of shops from which to purchase the daily necessities and much more. There are plenty of playgrounds with barbeque areas to enjoy in the warmer months. There is also a bike park, sailing club and a dog beach if you want to get a bit more active. It is the perfect area in which to raise a family as it is a close knit community, with a caring atmosphere and safe environment.

Margate

"Happiest Place in the State"

Margate is located 17 kms south west of Hobart. It is a little seaside village. The surrounding area is filled with vineyards, pasturelands and plenty of treed areas. It is a popular place to stop for tourists heading down towards the Bruny Island region. It is a thriving little town with quite a large variety of different shops. It also has a choice of both schools and churches. The Dru Point Bicentennial Park is a great place to enjoy with all the family. It is close enough to Hobart to make commuting to work possible. Although many people work locally in service industries or the Tassal fish factory or the Austal shipyard. It is the perfect place to raise a family. It was recently voted the happiest place in the state.

Orielton

"Home Sweet Home"

Orielton is set in pastureland around 23kms north east of Hobart. It has changed from being an agricultural centre to merely an outer suburban area of Hobart. The country feel however, still remains and makes it a desirable place to live. It is a nice place to raise a family and the affordable housing also makes it a desirable place for retirees.

Ridgeway

"Veggie Patch Turned to Housing"

Ridgeway was originially developed as a market garden area. Within its borders it has substantial green areas and three reservoirs which would have served the market gardens well. However, after the 1967 fires it became a more residential area. It still however, retains the expanses of open green space within the suburb. It is a great area to raise families.

South Arm

"Romantic Getaway and Seaside Retreat"

South Arm is a quaint town located to the south-east of Hobart on the South Arm Peninsula. It is the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a sea change. It has some beautiful B & B properties with access to a myriad of seaside activities right on their doorstep including rounds of golf, horse riding, surfing, fishing, beachcombing and there are also many rock pools to be explored.
