Mount Annan

"A friendly and affordable suburb with lots of parks"

Mount Annan is an attractive area that has been designed and developed from scratch for the last 20 years or so. The last land releases are almost complete (mid 2011) and the suburb is now well established. Mount Annan shops now have Aldi, Coles and Woolworth’s supermarkets and many specialty shops including cafes, medical centres, gyms, restaurants, florists, Australia Post shop, dentists, chemists, newsagents, and all the services you could think of, even a chocolate cafe. The bigger shops with large theatre complexes and big department stores are a 10 minute drive away in either direction (Narellan Town Centre to the west and Macarthur Square to the East).

Mount Annan is on the fringe of Sydney and really has the best of both worlds, city and country. The Australian Botanic Garden is located in Mount Annan (actually Mt Annan is in The Australian Botanic Garden, but is really a hill and not technically a mountain). The Gardens have a lot of picnic areas and is great if you love the outdoors. The whole suburb is excellent if you enjoy walking and exercising. There is also Mount Annan Leisure Centre which has indoor pools.

The people in Mount Annan are friendly and there are a lot of younger families, great for kids.

Great for

  • Lots of parks and recreation, space
  • Great neighbourly spirit, low crime area
  • Great facilities, no need to leave suburb often

Not great for

  • Some may find the commute to the city too far
  • Can not walk to a railway station (too far)
  • 40-45 minute drive to beaches (but I don't mind)

  • Professionals
  • Singles
  • Families with kids
  • Retirees
