Salisbury

"Salisbury is a charm"

Agree with other previous five star reviews, Salisbury is a great suburb. Have been here for 1.5 years now and really happy. Our neighbours are friendly, and there is an interesting mixture of old original houses, old houses being redone, as well as new homes. I disagree with the low score on fitness, there are always people with families and/or dogs out walking or running, and majority of the streets seem to have good footpaths. There is an indoor sports centre as well as Bikram Yoga in the area. A personal training centre opened near the local Bowls Club, and there are plenty of parks around + homes have decent sized backyards for kids. The local train station has just been repainted this year (2013) and now looks quite cute. We use Garden City shopping centre for clothes shopping or movies. Salisbury has plenty of options for meals, but it's not what I'd term as a glam restaurant area. Close to other restaurant suburbs though. If you wish for a few drinks over dinner, Southbank is only 20mins or so via train, and the city about 30mins via train. I'm glad that there is no nightlife here, but The Valley is only a train ride or $35-$40 taxi cab ride away (approximately). Moving to Salisbury has enabled us to get the best out of what South East QLD has to offer.
