My husband and I moved to Drouin last year from Boronia. I am a stay at home mum and my husband works in the finance industry. We had looked around the Berwick Pakenham and Officer and then decided to look out a bit further. I remember driving through drouin once or twice years ago and Iit was not memorable. When we looked at Drouin we found that the town had changed a bit, it is not a big town but it has two big supermarkets and we really liked the parks and the country feel. We have chosen to enroll our kids at the catholic school and our oldest child has just started. So far we are really enjoying the feeling of being out of the city.
We bought a house and land package just out of town and so far are pretty happy with it. We have met some neighbours and gotten to know a few people in town and for the most part the people here are more friendly than in Melbourne. Traffic can be an issue around school time through the town but apparently there are plans for a bypass to be built? I would recommend moving to Drouin, it is definitely better than living in the suburbs.
