Merton St

"Proximity"

This is a great part of Melbourne. Merton Street runs perpendicular to Kerferd Rd, at the end of which is the Kerferd Rd beach, which is absolutely beautiful for an inner suburban beach. Usually during summer volleyball nets are kept up at the beach and there are a number of cafes and restaurants opposite the beach to enjoy. Merton Street also runs off Victoria St and Bridport St which feature some of Melbourne's leading restaurants. Kamel (Middle Eastern) is particularly popular and worth a visit. Shopping is ok though not great for men's clothes with outlets being unnecessarily pricey given the range offered. Bridport also has a great dvd library.

Hi Proximity,

I'm lokoing to move into the area, a little more towards Port Melbourne. How do you find the traffic and noise in and around your area.

Thanks!

AJ,

No problems with traffice or noise around this area. The reason for this is that the after work traffice heads straight down st. kilda rd and the nepean (or in other directions) and the only traffic that turns off into port melbourne and albert park are the actual residents.

Only complaint about noise would probably be in Port Melbourne there is still a bit of construction work taking place (ie. large apartment blocks), so that may disturb. Otherwise its quite peaceful
