"good place to raise a family."
Its a nice area with some great parks and schools. the shopping center is adequate. Just too far form town for me. if you are up redlynch valley it is a bit of a trek.
"Gentrifying."
Everywhere you look houses are being sold and renovated or knocked down and rebuilt. A lot of those are the housing commission is being sold off. So the demographic is changing really fast. Lots of young professionals buying who were priced out of edge hill.
The raintrees shopping center is almost through the first phase of upgrade. Cafes are opening in the area. With the limited amount of land close to the city and the recent booms in neighbouring suburbs it will have a positive effect on housing prices. Its location is close to the city with multiple bus routes. Easy commute on bike or scooter.

"Great Cafes."
Not sure why it isn't rated better.
It is a great place to go eat and hang out. Close enough to town to commute on bike or scooter.

"Retirement Village."
Its nice to travel on the weekend but the place has gone backward with venues. Not so much live music anymore. Same old story of people moving in and forcing the life out.
Communing the traffic would be a nightmare.
"Resort town"
There isn't too much to do unless you want to stay in a resort or eat at expensive restaurants. It does have the beach which is nice. The drive from Cairns is beautiful but I'd rather go there for the weekend than live there.
"underated"
Great area close to good school.
Some awesome walks through Mt Whitfield to the botanic gardens.

"other reviews seem fake"
Thought I would comment as the other reviews seem like they are someone trying to boost their property values. It's a nice place to visit on the weekend but wouldn't live there. It is a bit out of town and peak hour traffic is annoying.
"Nice to visit but wouldn't want to live there."
Feels a bit remote for a place to live
"remote"
When I visit the place doesn't feel safe. Close to the Gorge if you like paying money to swim.
"there is development but it is not great and far from city."
Not sure about the other reviews. The are isn't that great. Has crime like all of cairns. Lower socio-economic area.

It really is an undervalued suburb of Cairns. Able to buy my first home here, community is great, all homeowners on my street. Close to TAS, St Mary's and two state primary schools. Takes me 7mins to get to the city from my house via the access rd. Has a real sense of community.
You gave one star to all the other suburbs and are pushing for Manoora as a good suburb. Manoora is 10 mins drive to the city and White Rock is 14 mins. 4 mins longer drive makes it too far? White Rock has the fastest gentrification in Cairns, less than 6% public housing overall while large parts of Manoora have 50% public housing. Manoora has at least 3 times more crime statistically than White Rock. White Rock is also fully not a floodable area, while Manoora is. White Rock has TAS which is the best school in Cairns and the state White Rock school also has an above average ranking. There is a shopping centre nearby as well as the boat ramps and nature all around at the eastern side of White Rock.
