Fig Tree Pocket

"Village advantage and urban convenience"

I originally lived here in the early 90s and moved back just recently. The community feel hasn’t changed and despite the numerous grande homes with expansive river views, the locals are very down to earth and welcoming. The leafy green surrounds and the lovely river breezes make it a superb suburb for morning and evening strolls or runs. The biggest delight is that it feels semi-rural but takes 5 minutes to Indooroopilly shoppingtown and just over ten minutes to the city.

Great for

  • Semi rural feel so close to the city
  • Green leafy surrounds
  • Very friendly community

Not great for

  • No shops in the suburb but next door to indooroopilly
  • Some streets flooded
  • Only buses- no citycat or train

Moggill

"Growing quickly but keeping its village feel"

We moved to Moggill from the inner city because we were sick of watching every other block get sliced in two with characterless oversized homes squeezed in alongside each other. Moggill offers a beautiful blend of quality developments, which include abundant user friendly green spaces and acreage sites, which showcase the true beauty of the natural surrounds of this lovely area. Yes the drive to work takes longer than it used to but the gentle curves of Moggill Road and the crystal views across the surrounding mountains make the 30 minute each way journey, genuinely uplifting. The community is friendly and diverse and new establishments like the local tavern have created great opportunities for social gathering and entertainment.

Great for

  • Beautiful surrounds
  • Well considered town planning
  • Safe and friendly community

Not great for

  • Shopping Centre needs to keep up with the growing population needs
