"Great quality of life 10kms from the city."

We moved here from Teneriffe to raise a family... haven't looked back. We have a manageable mortgage on a house (with a yard!) near the Russ Hall Park and are thrilled with the area. People are down-to-earth and friendly; there's gym equipment in the local park; if you follow it through, there's a little strip of shops with a Dr., small supermarket, a cafe with great coffee and croissants, and a pizza place opening soon. You can take the kids to the park across the road, or friends for a "Barefoot Bowls" next door.

Salisbury is bordered by four main roads, but is remarkably quiet. The roads are wide and the architecture varies; alot of gorgeous old workers' cottages and more modern homes, with more units going in. There are two C and K Kindis, which offer excellent programmes. The local school is good, as is the local Catholic school.

Public transport is excellent - Express train from Salisbury Station is around 25 minutes, the bus stop is so close we were able to sell the second car, and the city is easy to get to if you go through Tarragindi to the freeway. The Gold Coast is less than an hour away and great for weekend getaways; theme parks around 45 minutes.

There's a supermarket at Moorooka, and the African cuisine along the Beaudesert Rd. strip is excellent. There's another good-value supermarket on Orange Grove Rd., and the Rocklea markets are excellent value for a grocery shop on Saturday morning, but one of the things I love about Salisbury is that there are no big developments within it. Garden City and Indooroopilly are about 15 minutes away.

It IS a FANTASTIC suburb. Come along to The Rally at Nyanda Salisbury High tomorrow Saturday 18th 11am-1pm for a free sausage sizzle & to sign the petition against the high schools closure. Also Monday 20th May is the community consultation meeting for Urban Development at 5 - 6.30pm at the school. It effects the entire community.
