The Anchorage is the perfect street to bring a family up... it is quiet and safe, but yet so close to everything that you need.

East Maitland is a good area, but it could be so much better. The new Stockland Greenhills is open and is a major attraction but the surrounding East Maitland Sopping district needs to diversify and grow. While the IGA, Dominos and the Your discount chemist are open 7 days, it is sad to see the other surrounding shops, cafe's and restaurants closed on the weekend which for people to go to Greenhills even when they dont want to.

Also, if you are a single person over the age of 30 - I would advise to look somewhere else as it is a very family orientated suburb.

I live in Tweed Heads for 7 years and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be close to the Gold Coast but still maintain that close small town community feeling. Great Schools and Fantastic beaches, the town is a wonderful place to both live, work and play.
