"A small friendly town"
Somerville is an old area on the Westernport side of the Mornington Peninsula and it was a centre for apple growing originally. A lot of the original family still have descendants in the area.
Its very easy to get around as there are walking paths everywhere. Also bike paths which go from Somerville to Tyabb and on to Hastings and beyond and are very popular.
It is on a train line and has a bus service.
Has three supermarkets and a fourth is supposed to be being built this year.
There is a hotel in Somerville and a wine bar. A very good Indian Restaurant and a couple of Chinese Restaurants.
Large stores are: Target, Best and Less, Tates Timber and Hardware, Coles, Safeway, Bakers Delight.
Many small shops and takeaway food outlets.
Property ranges from first home to larger homes on acreage.
