Tighes Hill

"Tighes Hill - the place to be out and about"

Tighes Hill, Newcastle is the most convenient suburb spot you'll find in inner Newcastle. The suburb has old parks, water access, neighbours who'll actually go out of their way to welcome you into the village. Not many suburbs are surround by the parks and waterways which offer young and older families plenty to do on your door-step. Cycle in Newcastle, walk through the park to Hamiltons cafe street or railway station. The suburb is only a 2 minutes drive to KFC, Subway, McDonalds and surrounded by the Wests Mayfield ( Knights) mleagues club. Superb bus connections to all major shopping centres including Westfield and Charlestown Square. I have lived in a few places but never quite as relaxed as Tighes Hill - it's like taking a step back in time. The history, the old houses and convents is truly unique for this city of Newcastle

Great place for watching coal trains too !, They are real fun day & night screaming them wheels, Shunting that sounds like a bomb going off. Tell the truth, No body can stop Pacific bloody National and their coal trains ruining such a nice suburb. Its time we got a real noise barrier built the full length of FERNDALE ST, Not some cheap Bunnings corrugated iron make believe fence that is only in place to stop graffiti vandals from spraying the trains that park there. With all the money from coal that goes past, One would expect some effort from these clowns to help residents. But NO NO NO, Get lost and suck it up guys is the attitude.
