Port Lincoln

"Too much going for it to be picky about niggles!"

I honestly don't know why people live in cities at all when there are such cool little coastal towns like Lincoln to enjoy……honestly, us locals may pay this place out at times but why would anyone live a lifestyle of traffic, pollution, stupid property prices and rents, plus nasty and obnoxious crowds and the crime rate of the city?
Lincoln offers a clean environment and easy access to beaches that rank the highest of anywhere!
You can pick from surf breaks from beginnings to the brave, safe beaches for the little ones and best of all, you get them for yourself most of the time!
In the past we haven't had a lot of choice with eating out/nightlife, but that seems to be changing!
The schools are great, child-care fantastic, plenty of parks and public space around, plus great walking trails.
Locals are friendly and unpretentious, venture out further to surrounding towns like Elliston, Streaky, Tumby, Coffins etc and you will meet lots of generous, warm hearted country folk.
The only complaint I could make is that some Lincolnites drive in such a laid back manner they forget to use indicators or follow simple traffic lights or that locals should support their local businesses instead of flying off to Adelaide or Melbourne for shopping trips all the time! Come on guys, locals are doing it tougher than ever as retail spending slumps to the lowest in two years (something like that anyway!) Support your local!
Yes, this is a shameless plug but I love this place so why not?

LINCOLN . . . .
let me ramble on like a unhappy lincolner
firstly let me say i think localism is the biggest problem with lincoln.
well its very quiet indeed. and in my opinion its like a morgue mostly. You will find this to be especxially true if you have gown up or lived happily in any capital city. the whole idea of be local buy local is a joke. buy local and pay twice as much as you should is the reality. When you need something it most likely wont be stocked anyway, so then you can pay the extra freight cost and wait days for it to come from guess where? that dirty old adelaide. furthermore the sa government spends millions on advertising in the support SA product. why do lincoln people always bag laide.? fear of the unknown .. their world ends at north shields for most of these people.

next up ... lincoln has no quality beaches. the beaches wich are there are way below average. travel on the highway 30 mins before you find anything great. when you arrive you will need a good 4wd to get onto the beach and theres no facilities whatsoever.

the schools are not good. theres a severe lack of options for schooling.

there is no night life at all for 9 months of the year and theres the one and only cafe that everyone crams into incestuously..if a retaurant or take away opens up you could bet money on the thing being shut down within a year. locals wont stray away from the same fish and chip shop that the have been going to for 20 years.

i have lived here for ten years and i wont let anyone tell me its something great. I have been around the world and sorry but its not.
