"A Quiet Street in Secret Suburb"

Venerable Street is located in a stand alone suburb called Seventeen Mile Rocks. Seventeen Mile Rocks is in the Western Suburbs of Brisbane and approximately a 15 minute drive to the City. Many people drive straight past 17MR's and don't realise it is there, which is just the way we like it.
Venerable Street is a horse shoe street that is the pride of many of it's residents. The street is approximately 35% tenanted and 65% owner occupied. The challenge would be picking which is which as everyone looks after their properties alike - exceptionally well. The street is very green (even with the current water restrictions), and heavily treed with many native wildlife making their homes within. The homes were mostly built by AV Jennings in the 70's and most have been updated and renovated to reflect the current era.
Every year the suburb comes together to celebrate Christmas with a Carols night high on the escarpment overlooking the river and the brisbane city lights. The kids (and the adults) love it. We even occasionally get strays from other suburbs.
It is a 10 minute walk to the Brisbane River and the Rocks Riverside Park, with many walking trails surrounding. There are several other parks nearby for the use of those with small families and dogs. The railway station is a five minute drive and a direct line to the City. There is also the option of either the Centenary Highway or Ipswich Rd for easy access to the city or outlying suburbs.
In regards to shopping facilities, you have the option of grocery shopping at the local Monier Rd shopping centre, with a full size Woolworths as well as a tavern / restaurant that is extremely family friendly, with a childrens room and coffee lounge. Alternatively, 7 minutes drive away, Mt Ommaney shopping centre has K'mart, Big W, Woolworths, Coles and approx 50 specialty shops. You also have Jindalee Homebase featuring Freedom Furniture, McDonalds, Sleepys, Far Pavillions, BBQ Galore and many more, as well as the new Direct Factory Outlet (DFO) due to open it's doors next month.

So, regardless of your requirements, be it family, shopaholic or fitness fanatic, you will surely come to appreciate and love our little piece of Seventeen Mile Rocks, Brisbane. But please remember, it's our little secret, so don't spoil it by telling too many people.
