Is Wilde Avenue a safe street? I would be traveling to SF from the 8x express bus at night

I sted in Portolo for several months a year ago, and took the 8X downtown and back often. The bus is a bit sketchy at times at night, but not too bad. I was on Geottingen and Olmstead, which seems fairly close to Wilde Avenue.

Wilde Avenue might be okay, but I would not feel safe taking the bus through Bayview at night, which is the route of the bus. As a (white) woman who has worked in Hunter's Point/Bayview, I did not feel safe at all in parts of the neighborhood even during the day. If you are really considering it, I would take a "practice" trip on the bus with a friend, to see how safe you feel at night. If you are moving to Vis Valley for the price, consider the Sunset District. It's a long bus trip, but much safer.
