I've been living here since July 2015, and have not experienced any issues at all - no sense of feeling 'insecure' in the neighbourhood, and no reports of nearby break-ins, or car thefts/property damage. My home has window mesh 'bars' on them, and I'm actually considering having them removed. I think they just promote a feeling of insecurity, rather than stopping crooks!
