West Mackay ensures easy living for all with it being home to the Mackay Base Hospital, local primary & secondary schools, beaches and parklands. This suburb is central to main roads and public transport and within a few kilometres to Mackay’s Central Business District so your dream life with city convenience will start here.

Ok, well it appears that the most livable suburb in the Mackay region doesn't have any other reviews so I will BE HONEST and try to keep it real. I promise!

Covenience- the "4 ways"(corner of Bridge and Nebo Roads) is pretty much the centre of West Mackay. 5 minutes North in a motor vehicle and you will arrive at the new $100M+ Caneland Central, the Largest shopping Centre in the Mackay Region. Home to the likes of Myer, Target, Big W, Woolworths and Coles over 230 shops. The new section has some descent looking restaurants and a nice atmosphere overlooking the Blue waters of the Pioneer River.

5 minutes East of the 4 ways is the $408M Mackay Base Hospital redevelopment site which when finished in 2013 will double the current capacity to 318 beds.

5 minutes West of the 4 ways is the Mackay "Town Beach". Known as Far Beach because of the low tides that expose the distant sand flats of the intertidal zone. The ideal place to exercise, escape and explore!

5 minutes South and you will arrive in the Industrial Engine Room of Paget a suburb in the Southern Suburbs of Mackay. The construction of the $33,000,000 Hastings Deering Industrial Park ( A specialist workshop facility to cater for maintenance of the 797series coal mine dump trucks) was definitely a confidence boost for the "Faith in the Future" of our diverse region and a serious infrastructure development.

I haven't had a chance to even touch on the little things that make this suburb my favourite place to live in Mackay. You know, the secret stuff that only a local would know like where to get a nice piece of local caught fish and some crunchy chips! (Sea Shanty Nebo Road opposite KFC)
