As Shiloh mentioned, Wesminster is fairly large and varies quite well in terms of neighborhoods. Finding your "neighborhood fit" truly depends on what you are looking for. Westminster has done an incredible job with preserving open space and its trail systems while allowing for sustainable growth. An area to keep your eye on would have to be from 88th ave up to 112th and in between Wadsworth and Sheridan blvd. I believe this area is gong to realize some substantial gains in the very near future with some very exciting developments. With the demolition of the old Westminster mall nearly complete, the city of Westminster is projecting the possibility of breaking ground in the spring of 2013. The "new mall" will be comprised of a high density urban village with retail, office space and residential uses. And even though the Fastracks light rail system has become a huge disappointment for many of us in the Northwest area, current plans are to build the light rail system ending close to 104th (Church ranch) and highway 36. One neighborhood to really focus on is Hyland Village which sits close to 97th and Sheridan. It has yet to be developed (sans 4 single family homes and a cluster of beautiful townhomes) as the original builder experienced many of the issues and heartaches that were felt when the housing bubble burst. Rumors are rampant that a new (and unnamed) developer is getting close to starting to build again. The original plans for Hyland Village were for a mixed use area with condos, town homes and retail. It appears that the city is going to stick with most of its original intended use. This neighborhood is surrounded by other vibrant subdivisions, a nice golf course (Hyland Hills), and easy access to Boulder (12 minutes) and Denver (15 minutes) as Highway 36 is just minutes away. It is hard to beat!

An exciting development occurring right now off the 88th Ave and Sheridan Blvd is the renovation of the old Westminster Mall. The ONLY store to remain on this complex is the JC Penney store.
This part of Westminster is close to the City Building, Hwy 36 (Boulder Turnpike) and numerous other retail and business space. There are neighborhoods within 5 minutes of this area from ALL directions. These neighborhoods provide housing from Multi-units to properties in excess of $500,000.
No doubt the redevelopment of the Mall will generate more jobs, and Westminster will see an influx of folks moving into the area for the work.

Westminster is fairly large, but I would recommend that you live closer to Broomfield or Standley Lake, which encompasses the northern and western regions of the city. These neighborhoods are diversifying their economic structure, are taking in many new businesses, and have the advantage of being close to other cities with more money. There are more parks, shops, and interesting places to go after work. If you are a budding nerd, you can visit The Butterfly Pavilion. If you prefer the spectacular aerial displays demonstrated by beginner wake-boarders then you can spend your weekends at Standley Lake. However, the more south-east you go (towards 92nd Ave.), the closer to the trailer parks you come, which is not a good environment unless you are dead broke. If you were to continue north-east, closer to Northglenn, it slowly raises in quality from Federal Heights (aka "Trailer-park Town") but does not have the same economic diversity as you will find in the northern and western areas. Nearer Northglenn, (closer to 104th and Federal Ave.) Westminster still does have it's charm with quaint homes and lovely, matured parks and open spaces. As far as specific neighborhoods are concerned, well, it depends on your personal preferences.

I love the neighborhoods around Standley Lake because of the easy access to trails and the lake.

Legacy Ridge is a nice neighborhood. I just helped some Buyers in that area. They really like it there.
