Why is it that the Council insist that this Area is So Good to Live in? From the High Rates & 1 Bin Service One can see why the Developers are Hand in Hand with this Council. Units/Town Houses Everywhere! Filled to the maximum & Mainly with Unemployed Individuals. The Area appears as a Slum!. Too Many Refugee types Invading the Area & they will Not conform to the Australian way. Too many People doing Vandalism. Fortnightly it is a Nightmare! to go to Local P.Office etc as Pestered by Individuals asking for Handouts. Or wishing to Bully People with Violent attitudes to Gain Financial Help. Noise is an Annoyance re Vehicle Traffic even on local Streets. Actually! would like to move to another Area where Free of this Slum Appearance. Shops are expensive. Police take their time to attend to anything. So the Word to the Council is: Instead of Charging High Rates & Pretending This Area is a Top Area! Face Facts! The Area is as a Slum appears both to me & Outside Visitors. No Value for the High Rates in this Area.

Woodridge is, and has always been, a very low socio-economic with high unemployment and high crime rate.
Do your research.

My advice to you would be that if you want to have any idea of what a true slum is you travel to a third world country. Woodridge is not paradise but it has come a long way and in my opinion it has nothing to do with a slum. We all need to live somewhere.

It's all relative as Dan points out :)

I always tell people to visit Logan Central shopping centre for 30 minutes, perhaps on pension and benefits day :) Grab yourself a coffee and sit down for 30 minutes to observe. 1) You will have an interesting time 2) You should get a reasonable idea about whether it would suit you as an area to live.

Other than this have a talk with some property managers in the region about the best locations, there is good and bad in most areas.

I'm an outside visitor and hate the place. It may not be a third world slum in the fact that it has good infrastructure, but the criminals, addicts and misfits certainly make it uninhabitable for the responsible hard working citizen.

There are a number of good people living in the suburb but the numbers of drug addicts, criminals and social misfits far exceed the good ones.

Police and council turn a blind eye. Maybe the job is just too big for them or maybe they just can't be bothered to get off their behinds.
