Woollahra, NSW 2025

Woollahra is an affluent suburb 5 kilometres east of the Sydney CBD in the local government area of Woollahra Council and is part of the Eastern Suburbs. It is bordered by Bellevue Hill to the north, Bondi Beach to the east, Centennial Park to the south and Paddington and Edgecliff to the west. It has a population of about 7,300, 17% of whom are under 18 and 26% of whom are over 60.

Woollahra is a leafy suburb and relatively quiet. The average price of houses is $1.5 million and for apartment and units $600,000. Being quite an old suburb there are many Victorian and Federation houses.

The shopping centre has a village like atmosphere and there are quite a few antique shops and galleries. There are a number of cafes and restaurants. Woollahra is also home to quite a few international consulates.

There is one public primary school, Woollahra Public which opened in 1877 – my mother went to school there. Older students need to travel to neighbouring suburbs for high school.

Woollahra is conveniently placed because of its proximity to the city and the commercial area of Bondi Junction.

As far as desirable places to live goes, Woollahra would come out near the top.

I appreciate some of the earlier architecture and it has that established feel without the lack of modern convenience, such as the local Westfield Mall, public transport and all facilities / ammenities so everything could be within walking distance for some people - I have even walked to the city before. The problem is the people, and it’s not even just the immigrants or younger generations. Old people can be awful! I have even been physically attacked by a seemingly frail 90 year old looking lady so it’s not even safe to stop at the pedestrian crossing

I don’t ever plan on leaving Woollahra. Living here is a joy with proximity to the city, transport, beach and shopping. There are many great bars and restaurants within walking distance and some fantastic schools nearby for families. The many large trees and amazing parks just add to the beauty and charm of the area.

Heaven on earth but comes at a price. Central to everything Woollahra has to offer in a beautiful tree lined street

Delightful Woollahra, I love this place! Famous for its tree-lined streets and charming homes, Woollahra is situated just 5 kilometres to the east of Sydney.

It is a popular shopping spot, with the main shopping street lined with coffee bars, florists and boutique shops.

House prices are very high here, but to be expected given the great location and lovely village feel.

The CBD is just a short walk away, or can be easily accessed by bus.

Woollahra is a leafy suburb not far from the CBD of Sydney on the eastern side of the city. This suburb is quite trendy with many cafes, boutique stores, art galleries and antique shops. Woollahra is also home to many international consulates such as Germany, Poland, Russia, Serbia and Turkey. There are a number of old buildings to see such as the Lord Dudley Hotel, and a quaint “corner shop in Ocean Street which was built around 1859. Woollahra has a beautiful Golf Course and a great swimming pool called Red leaf pool which is a harbour enclose and has pontoons , toilets and change rooms as well as a kiosk. Home prices in this area are quite steep as are rents.

Woollahra is a nice but pricey suburb located in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. It is a quick ten to fifteen minutes' drive to the city from here and there are plenty of buses that service this area. Typical of inner city Sydney suburbs, the streets in Woollahra are so narrow that buses often have to drive over the round abouts in the middle of the roads.

As expected, housing prices here are on the higher end of the scale with many upper income families living here. Things are generally more expensive here as compared to the likes of your suburbs in Western Sydney. However, Woollahra has plenty of charms. It has several cafes, pubs, florists, restaurants, boutiques, shops and nice heritage architecture. It is a very nice place to live if you can afford the cost.
