I have lived in Mooloolaba, Caloundra, Buderim and I have never been bitten. I can't remember the last time I saw one.

Claire, While I have lived at Alexandra headlands for 15 years and now Buderim for the last 20 years and never had a issue with Sandflies I would suggest the mountain is the safest as no sand here, plenty of breezes and elevation to run off the waters to the lower zones. All the best Lloyd.
