Why can’t I find properties matching my search criteria?

The filters in Homely’s property search are comprehensive. You can refine your search using filters including Price, Bed, Bath, Property Type, Inspections, Car spaces, Auction days, Indoor features, Outdoor features, Eco Features, Land area and Frontage.

The more filters you use, expect to see fewer properties in your results. Smaller suburbs will generally reveal fewer results, and once you begin refining with filters, there will be less or sometimes no properties listed for sale or to rent.

If you find no properties are matching your search criteria in your area of interest, you can try a few different things:

  1. Check that all filters are turned off. If you are using several filters, keep in mind that sometimes when agents submit their properties, they may leave out some property features from their listing details. So if you want an open fireplace for instance, but the agent hasn’t ticked that their property has one (even if it does) you may miss out on your dream property. If no listings are showing, consider removing your filters in case some of your requirements haven’t been included in the listing details.
  2. Extend your search area. You can do this by searching using our draw search or by zooming out on the map and hitting ‘Search this area’ – read more about that here.
  3. If there are still no properties in your defined range, there may not be properties available at this time. We suggest setting up a new alert to be notified when new properties are listed, so you don’t miss out. Read more about alerts here.
