Albion is a hidden gem!! Quiet streets with lovely weatherboard houses. Big improvements to Perth street lately and a fantastic new cafe (Saddie Black) opening up - awesome coffee and food by the way, really worth the check out... it's Brunswick good ;) oh - i almost forgot the train station - walking distance and only 15 mins into the CBD!! Winning
There is currently only one place you can get a proper coffee in Albion: that is at Mitko Deli on Perth Avenue and they make a pretty good one. However, they are only open during during the day Tues-Fri and on Saturdays till 1:30pm. If you want a coffee outside of those times you have to go to Sunshine, only a kilometre or so away: try Cafe Ancheto or The Granary.
Albion easily has the best coffee options around the Sunshine side of the west where you have the modern quality of the Yarraville and West Footscray cafes. The Perth St shops have three great places for coffee - Sadie Black, Cinnabuns and Mitko Deli & Café. All of them offer high quality coffee with their own different food offerings.
Sadie Black is great contemporary, sit-down café with excellent breakfast and lunches. Mitko is European deli with a great selection of fresh meats, sandwiches, cakes, European groceries and cheeses and Cinnabuns is French bakery with croissants and cakes.
Agreed, I would either go to Mitko Deli or head into Sunshine to the Granary or there's a new Mecca Cafe on Devonshire. I'm still a bit undecided about the Mecca Cafe, it depends on which barista is working that day, but overall it's a really nice cafe with nice furnishings and food options.
Check out Saddie Black Vanessa... you won't be disappointed :)
