Reviews of Arinya Street, Kingsgrove

"great place to raise a family"

lived here for over 8 years now. friendly neighbourhood with more elderly people than rowdy young people. both neighbours and the one across are friendly and we always say hello. schools nearby, close to the train station (10 minute walk), close to the m5 entrances/exits. drive through small streets to get to the city so no need to bear peak hour traffic.

downside is that it is purely residential, there are some small shops and food outlets on the main strip near the station however it is the bare minimum. there is a postoffice and most major banks which is convenient.

the street itself is very quiet, bottom half is no through road so few cars drive through it. the top half has a few more cars and at times noisy cars who have noisy exhausts zoom past as they accelerate - notice these a few times a day but very few. i don't hear normal cars drive by.

Great for

  • Quiet street
  • Elderly people very friendly
  • Supposedly the highest point in sydney

Not great for

  • Occasionally loud cars drive by to avoid the kingsgrove rd/homer st intersection
  • Very steep road so may not be suitable for the less mobile
