Can I walk over Garret Road Bridge to the river foreshore from Ascot?

Yes, you can! I guess you don't already live there, but it is a great location near the river. For the bridge, it depends which bit of Ascot you are in though to determine how long it will take. If you are in Ascot over near Tonkin Hwy - (see the Google map next to the question) you can actually follow the walking trails alond the river until you get closer to the bridge and then just walk across the footpath on the side of the bridge - it has railings to separate it from the traffic. It would take quite a while but it is a nice walk. In a few places you might need to deviate along a road or something, but keep heading towards the city and keep the river in sight! At the moment they are doing repair work behind the racecourse, so that might be one spot that you have to go around. Otherwise, if you are in Ascot Waters over by Garratt Rd, you can simply walk out of the suburb and over to the racecourse - 5 mins or so, and then head towards the bridge and you are on your way. It used to take me an hour or so to walk to the river with my grndparents years ago!
