Reviews of Australia Avenue, St Agnes

"Great value for money"

St Agnes is a lovely suburb with excellent public transport options. If you have kids you are well catered with day care and quite a number of primary school options and also the modbury high school nearby.

Shopping is a breeze with the St Agnes shopping centre around the corner or Grand Junction Rd shops which have recently been redeveloped or on the other side of the suburb is Tea Tree Plaza or next door to Tea Tree Plus.

This is a cheaper option to Golden Grove and in my book, nicer. It is far enough from Modbury that you don't need to be associated with it unless you choose to shop there however it is still only a 20-30 min drive to work in the city.

This is a particularly good suburb for the elderly to retire to. The amenities in the area (including many doctors' surgeries and also the modbury hospital) and the shops nearby make this a great option for independent living - without a car.

Why the street is low in health aspects? Is it too close to CBD or Industries? Is this part of Adelaide Hills? Was there any bush fire in the recent past? How is the communication like ADSL2+ (24MBps) internet, mobile reception, etc.? Are there any good eating places?

Hi avatar0, I graded street health on a number of things for my experience from living there. Australia Ave has a good amount (not so much that it's a main road) of traffic as it is one of the roads between Grand Junction Rd & Modbury. There is also a high school which increases the amount of traffic. Therefore it's not the quietest street in the suburb. It is not Modbury but is near Modbury which makes me mark down the "safe and sound" aspect. I own a house here and love this street so don't get me wrong, i would not live there if it wasn't a lovely and safe street to live on.

No bush fires for this street however the ash wednesday fires could be seen from this street - however it was never under threat. This street is not too close to industries or CBD - this is the benefit - it's tucked away in the foot hills and is very suburbia. No problems with internet or mobile phone reception that we found. There are several excellent eateries in the area: Simply Thai is my fave but there are many more. This is a really great and affordable place to live.
