Reviews of Bald Hills, QLD

"Bald Hills is beautiful"

We absolutely love living in Bald Hills. We moved here at the beginning of 2020 around the area of Miles and Wakefield Street with our young family.

It's a quiet place to call home with leafy green streets filled with beautiful trees.

We've found it to be extremely convenient and central to the highway to get up to the coast or a quick run down Gympie Rd to chermside followed closely by the CBD.

We have access to both the train station at the end of the street and the buses just off the main Rd on old Gympie.

The park up the road now has amenities and is a great little spot to take young children to play and learn how to ride bikes, scooters etc. We also love the view it boasts.

We have local shops directly across the street with Bunnings Warehouse, Aldi and Chemist Warehouse to name a few of the big ones. We then have the revamped Bonny View Hotel we often stroll up to for a bite to eat. Just down from there is Ahoy, a local Cafe in the heart of Bald Hills; a common spot for a Sunday morning breakfast or coffee stop off.

Just down from there is the well-kept and beautifully presented Bald Hills State School, with the well-loved C&K kindy nestled beside it.

All is all, we absolutely LOVE our Bald Hills choice of living and couldn't imagine living elsewhere, if anything we plan to be here for the long-term and renovate as we're on a bigger block that is hard to come by these days with a decent backyard for the young ones and we're still apart of Brisbane!

Honestly has been the best decision we made.

We love BH ❤️

"A great Place to Live"

We moved into the area near Canterbury park and what a great place to live. have never had an issue with crime though the mozzies can be bad at times. Prior to moving near Canterbury park we were living on the other side (near the duck pond) - both sides have the pros and cons but what attracted us to the Western side was the larger block sizes in the old estate as opposed to the new. All up about 3-4 years living in bald Hills now and the area is changing every year with new buildings goin up and larger blocks being subdivided.

"Great place and everything is nearby"

I am surprised so many people miss this suburb. It is so close to the bay, with the fresh air rolling through the hills in the afternoon. From North and West there is the pine river which keeps the place cool. Such a relief in hot summer.

There are a number of schools nearby and some childcare centres, so amenity is high. I would personally stay away from the main roads through as they can get noisy. Also the suburb is stone throw away from a number of major shopping areas. Strathpine is nearby with great shopping centre, in fact its 3 minutes drive or next stop on the train. Buses are plenty and frequent. Carseldine shopping area with Bunnings and Aldi is just around the corner. I love this area. It is central yet very homely.

"Excellent Suburb close to everything"

This is an excellent suburb with abundance of green space. There is so much open space it, it is so refreshing, especially if your work in the CBD.
Transport is fantastic, Bald hills train station gets you quickly to Sunny coast or CBD. Trains are frequent. There are a number of major roads as well like Strathpine road and Gympie rd. Pretty much get to anywhere in North Brisbane with minimal fuss.
So close to the new site of the USC campus, this suburb could see significant growth. USC is building Australia’s newest university campus in the heart of Moreton Bay. Opening at Petrie in 2020, the campus will offer world-class study opportunities for residents in the region. Bald Hills is in great position to capitalise on that.

Bunnings, Aldi and a number of great shops down south end of Bald Hills. It is already moving up the state ranks (Ref: https://securedatapower.com/blog/2019/01/03/compare-and-understand/)

"Love Bald Hills!"

Moved into Bald Hills area in June after living close to the city. It was affordable for us and has good schools near by. We love it. We know everyone in our street and have a fantastic coffee shop, pub, pizza place, parks all near by. As for anything being stolen, this definitely does not apply to us. We've left all sorts of things out on the lawn since we've been here and no problems at all. I can't wait for more people to move out this way.

Great for

  • Handy to everything in a 5klm radius
  • Very easy access to Nth,Sth,East,West
  • Has an olde country towne feel to the area
  • Established community

Not great for

  • Need some more exciting people to move out here.

"Bald Hills has come along way - you will be surprised"

Bald Hills is a really nice suburb around Rothbury st. is great, prices are increasing rapidly, but the best part is it's quiet, safe and the people are friendly, Bald Hills primary has very good result and there are plenty of local clubs etc. I would highly recommend you take a look and ignore the old negative emails here as they are past history and no longer relevant.

Great for

  • Handy to everything in a 5klm radius
  • Very easy access to Nth,Sth,East,West
  • Has an olde country towne feel to the area
  • Solid 1980s homes

"Easiest place to live"

Have lived here for 20 years and brought up my children here... such an easy place to live, less than an hour to the Sunshine Coast, 16km to city, easy access to airport, shopping great and all within 10 minutes, good schools and train and bus at the door. Have always felt safe and secure, minimum crime. In addition, the general vista of the suburb is pleasant and appealing from the Bald Hills flats to the riverside walking paths and access to watersports on Pine River and Deep Water Bend fishing and picnic spot. Overall, a great area to live, and very encouraging to see quality coffee shops appearing on the horizon.
