Is Ballajura a good suburb?

I have lived in North Ballajura for 30 years love the place by Perth standards its very close to everything very central.
Malaga is a light industrial area furniture electrical stores,churches,smash repaires theres no heavy duty factories.
Mirrabooka is not that close to be a problem and Mirrabbooka is not that bad some very expensive houses there.
Its easier to get to the city from Ballajura than many costal suburbs that rely on the Mitchell Freeway from Ballajura its srtaight down Alexander Drive. I will agree that public transport is not to good

I have lived in Central/South Ballajura for 17 years and work in the city. I have only one bus option for getting into the city for work, so I have to plan around it carefully but it is not a major hassle.
The Malaga industry area is (so far) only light industry zones (small factories, mechanical workshops, scrap yards, etc) so it isn't a health hazard if you're worried about pollution, but there is a petty crime problem there as with all such areas so you wouldn't want to park your car there overnight unguarded (as I have been forced to before and found it broken into the next day with the fuel stolen).
As for the Mirrabooka "crime problem", it is not an issue. But Ballajura does have its own crime problem (mostly hoon drivers, break-ins and vandals) so you need to be aware of that too.
I continue to live in Ballajura because it is very central to everywhere for its location in the north-east of Perth and I have substantially boosted my home security over the years to compensate for the crime rate increase since we lost the local police station (Kiara Police station is too far away and the replacement patrols aren't frequent enough to compensate for it).
Every area has its good and bad phases. Fortunately for Ballajura it is part of a political swing seat zone, so hopefully the current bad phase for the last four years is almost at an end.

"A WA Police spokesman said officers spotted the stolen Holden Commodore leaving a car wash on the corner of Walter Road East and Beechboro Road North, in Morley and tried to stop the vehicle.

However the driver, a 19-year-old Ballajura man, continue to drive away from them.

Police followed the car and while travelling on Morley Drive it is alleged the suspect tried to drive in between two vehicles."

I live in the south side,unless you want to get mobbed or harassed don’t go anywhere near south ballajura,north ballajura and summer lakes are safe and have great people but sometimes they have out of control parties,but south ballajura is the Bronx and Detroit more powerful child,just don’t go there

I hear a lot abt the Lakes, North Ballajura & South Ballajura. May I know where is considered South Ballajura and which areas not to go near?

I have raised my family in Ballajura over the past 20 plus years, we have never had any issues, we live South Ballajura Parklands area.
Our neighbors have always been friendly. My daughter catches a bus into the city for school. We work in Malaga which is a light industrial area. We are 17klm’s to the city, 17 klm’s to Hillary’s boat harbour and only 18klm’s to the beautiful Swan Valley, we are very happy here.
You will find good and bad in all areas.

Ballajura is suburb of Perth. In Ballajura there are definitely good and bad areas.
The Lakes area is attractive but the most expensive in the suburb. There are some gorgeous houses and nice parks and walking areas.
The only downside is that there aren't any cafes and that one thing u going to about other areas. There are some coffee shops in shopping centers but it isn't the same.

I have lived in South Ballajura for over 20 years, I live in a quiet cul de sac and have never had a hoon driver, break in or disturbance in this time, our neighbours look after their properties and are very nice. We have shops, parks and local schools near by, getting to the city by bus is very convenient as well as getting to Joondalup. It’s very handy having the Malaga industrial area close by especially big stores like Bunnings, J B Hi-Fi, and even having the Malaga Markets to pass the time on the weekends. We are listed as the 31st best suburb in Perth, and no mention of being part of the top 10 worst suburbs in Perth. It has a great community feel.
